This national reserve needs a little work to update it's facilities.
Banks Lake is definitely one of the more beautiful natural lakes I've been to but it's also the hardest lake I've ever fished. If you want a challenge this is the place to go. Use extreme caution when driving a boat due to all the trees and underwater stumps. This is not the place to go if you want to go fast on the water.
Good fishing spot when the fish are in the mood to bite. Very relaxing and beautiful scenery so I'm never upset if I go home empty handed.
Not much to do but fish from the dock and walk the trail. Beautiful Sunsets every night and it's quiet.
If the lake was not filled with grasses I would rate it a 5! Love the trails and the boat and canoe rentals. The shop has most anything else you might want to go out and check out the beautiful scenery. If you don't want to be ON the water, enjoy the decks, plenty of fishing spots. The kids like seeing the gators from the dock or in water .
